What is a transfer?

Please note: If you are a home owner, a resident in an almshouse, or a tenant on a 6 months Assured Shorthold Tenancy who has paid a deposit, this policy/ section may not apply to you.

NCHA is aware that tenants' circumstances change and that at some point, you may wish to move to a different property that is more suitable to your changed circumstances.

Talking to your Estate Officer can provide you with guidance about your options for moving. We try to encourage our tenants to re-register on a choice based letting scheme where possible, as it may be much quicker than getting an internal transfer. In some circumstances, it may be appropriate for NCHA to offer you an internal transfer. This is where a tenant moves from one NCHA property to another.
