Training and Involvement
As a valued member of a NCHA tenants group, we aim to provide you with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to enable you to be an effective member of that group.
We can offer a variety of courses and options, which aim to equip you with the key skills and confidence required to apply your skills as a successful representative of NCHA. A further benefit to you is that the knowledge and skills you gain will be transferable to both your personal life and work.
We’ll talk to you about arranging training suitable for your needs. All we ask is that you complete a training request form telling us how you’ll benefit from the training, and a satisfaction form when you’ve completed the course. That way we can monitor that the training we offer is the best available and suits your needs.

Free e-learning courses for tenants
TPAS offer e-learning courses, which are free to NCHA tenants. All TPAS e-learning courses are accredited at level 2 with Open Awards. Courses are suitable for tenants, residents, community groups and staff. E-learning courses require 10 hours of study over a two week period and are supported by an online tutor. We can arrange for you to attend external courses (such as TPAS, Trafford Hall), and we can even bring training in-house if we have enough interest. We can offer advice and signpost you to local training programs.
Full costs of training will be met - this includes course fees, travel and childcare and carer’s expenses. We will also consider requests for overnight accommodation and subsistence expenses, however this would usually only apply to a 2-day course.

Learn My Way
Learn My Way is a free website with some great courses, designed to help you get online for yourself, and make the most of what the internet can do for you. There’s help if you’re taking your first tentative steps online, and lots of courses to help guide you through everything from online job hunting and banking to internet shopping and social media. You can even create your own personal learning plan.
If you don’t have internet access at home, you can access the training at online centres across the region.
