Tenancy Agreement

NCHA offers different types of tenancies, depending on;
• When a property was built
• If you are an existing NCHA tenant
• The type of property being offered

Some examples of the different types of tenancy are Starter Tenancies, Assured Tenancies, Secure Tenancies, Affordable Rent Fixed Term Tenancies, Section 209 agreements and Assured Shorthold Tenancies.
All tenants will be given information about the type of tenancy they are being offered and the main clauses of the agreement (rights and responsibilities), will be explained before a tenancy agreement is signed.
Most tenants will initially be on a ‘Starter Tenancy’. This will be extended where the terms and conditions of tenancy are met, either to an Assured Tenancy, or a further Fixed term Tenancy.
